Rifle and Pistol Range

  • Our range consists of 100-yard and 50-yard rifle shooting areas, and a 50-foot pistol area.

  • The range is open May 1.

  • The rifle/pistol range is open Monday - Saturday 10am - 5pm only.

  • The range is for members only.

  • Members can come shoot at any time during the posted hours. The club house does not need to be open to access the range.

Members Only - Unauthorized persons will be charged with criminal trespass.

  • Any violation of range rules will result in revocation of membership.
  • Treat all firearms as if they are always loaded.
  • Keep your finger off the trigger & outside the guard until you are on target & ready to shoot.
  • Keep your firearm pointed in a safe direction at all times.
  • Be aware of your target and what's beyond. Always have a designated backstop.
  • Eye and ear protection is required.
  • ALL ROUNDS MUST IMPACT BACKSTOP
  • NO fully automatic firearms.
  • When people are down range, firearms shall be unloaded on the bench with the chamber up, or in a gun rack with the muzzle pointed up.
  • Using pre-positioned target frames are required. No targets shall be placed on the ground.
  • NO Tannerite, incendiary, or explosive targets are allowed.
  • NO steel targets, gongs, plates, or shooting trees are allowed.
  • Be sure your firearm is in safe operating condition.
  • Know how your firearm operates and ensure you have the correct ammunition.
  • All MGC board members & designated range officers have full authority over range operations.
  • Never use drugs and/or alcohol before or while shooting.

Trap, Skeet, and 5 Stand Fields

  • We have 3 trap fields and 1 skeet/ 5 stand field.

  • All fields have a voice-activated speaker system for automatic pulling.

  • The trap and skeet/5 stand fields are open to the public.

  • Treat all firearms as if they are always loaded.
  • Keep your firearm pointed in a safe direction at all times.
  • Be aware of your target and what's beyond.
  • Eye and ear protection is required.
  • Never place a shell in the chamber until you are ready to shoot.
  • No shot larger than 7 1/2  is allowed.
  • MGC board members, pullers, score keepers and designated range officers have full authority over range operations.
  • Youth Shooters must be a minimum of 10 years old and meet the following conditions:
    • 10- & 11-year-olds MUST have a parent or legal guardian ON the shooting station with them. 
    • 12- & 13-year-olds with an accepted form of training/ membership may shoot but MUST have a parent or legal guardian at the filed they are shooting on. 
    • 14 year old and up MUST provide one of the below forms of training/ membership.
      • Hunter Safety Certificate
      • Amateur Trapshooting Association Card (ATA)
      • Wisconsin Trapshooting Association Card (WTA)
      • Scholastic Clay Target Program Athlete number (SCTP)
      • National Rifle Association (NRA) Youth Firearm Safety Certificate
      • United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) Youth Firearm Safety Certificate
    • Note: A legal Guardian MUST be at least 21 years old. 
  • While there is an orange cone on top of the trap house, that range is considered closed.  
  • Always turn to the right when moving from post 5 to post 1 and walk behind your squad.  
  • When changing posts, keep your firearm unloaded with the action open.
  • Never hold or carry your firearm over your shoulder with the barrel pointing behind you. 
  • Firearms with a break open action may be closed ONLY when placed in a gun rack.  Never point or swing your firearm in the clubhouse.
  • Pets are allowed in spectator areas and must be on a leash at all times. No pets are allowed inside the club house. 
  • NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES MAY BE CONSUMED UNTIL YOUR SHOOTING IS COMPLETED.
